tmux in ehorus terminal
#1
Hi again guys,

I am trying to run tmux over ehorus terminal, I get this:

open terminal failed: missing or unsuitable terminal: unknown

I decided to try out screen, so went ahead to install it but got this:

After this operation, 972 kB of additional disk space will be used.
debconf: unable to initialize frontend: Dialog
debconf: (Dialog frontend will not work on a dumb terminal, an emacs shell buffer, or without a controlling terminal.)
debconf: falling back to frontend: Readline
E: Waited for /usr/sbin/dpkg-preconfigure --apt || true but it wasn't there
E: Failure running script /usr/sbin/dpkg-preconfigure --apt || true

I guess this is specific to the way terminal emulation is handled, not my environment, right ?

Thank you!

Hi marinroglev,

I suppose it will be a terminal emulation problem, I don't know how will your environment.
I've never try use Tmux on Ehorus.

Best regards,

vic.

Hi marinroglev,

When the TERM environment variable is properly set when connecting, tmux works.

If TERM is not set, I have some limited success by setting it to xterm :
# export TERM=xterm
# tmux

Regards,
T.
